The sculpture represents a centaur, but the word minotaur is written on its chest. It appears to be something between an inscription and graffiti.

This capital demonstrates the confusion between the centaur and minotaur in the Middle Ages. This confusion is also found in two other ares of the Puy-de-Dôme: Maringues and Saint-Myon.
