The words carved on the book held by the elect and the banderoles presented by the angels are passages from Matthew 25, 34 and relate to the Last Judgment. Tunc dicet rex his qui a dextris ejus erunt: Venite, benedicti Patris mei, possidete paratum vobis regnum a constitutione mundi. Mat. 25, 41: Tunc dicet et his qui a sinistris erunt: Discedite a me, maledicti, in ignem aeternum. The sentence inscribed on the book held by John is not a biblical quotation.
