Description:
Capital at the right of entry to church
Inscription is on the impost of two faces of capital. (Probably 1st quarter 12th century)
Reference:
The inscription does not form a classical verse. There are several errors in the meter and cognatur is incorrect; it should read conatur.
Face:
[DEMONIUS COGNATUR INTRARE VETATUR] ANGELUS OBSTAT EI PREDITUS EN[SE]
A demon prepares to enter but it is stopped. An angel armed with a sword blocks him [the demon].
